This is a restored copy of a circa 1851 historic panoramic photograph of the San Francisco, California waterfront with border and bold text depicting antique historic pre Civil War nineteenth century wooden sailing ships resting on the horizon in San Francisco Bay. This very early and rare antique early Victorian California gold rush period photograph was made by an unknown photographer. The original photograph that this copy is made from is in a Rochester, New York private collection.
This photograph is marked with a numeric identification key, 1-15, denoting certain buildings or sections of the historic mid nineteenth century San Francisco waterfront as follows:
