These are copies of old photographs of the my ancestors, the Ogden family of Ogden Farm, Town of Wallkill, New York. These are the descendants of English immigrant John Ogden the Pilgrim who built the first stone church in New Amsterdam [later Manhattan] in the 17th century and who helped to found the state of New Jersey. Jonathan Ogden, the 18th century progenitor of these Ogdens, left the devastated war torn Elizabethtown, New Jersey, area during or shortly after the Revolution and resettled in western Orange County then known as the Minisink wilderness. Jonathan's son Daniel Ogden, a cooper by trade, married Arminda Tryon Ogden at Amity, New Jersey and founded Ogden Farm in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County near present day Middletown...
