Description
This is a restored copy of a chromolithograph designed by American artist Edmund Birckhead Bensell, 1842-1894, that was published by Louis Prang and Company circa 1861-1897. This humorous antique Victorian American agricultural farming scene depicts two well dressed Victorian ladies and a dandy fashionable Victorian gentlemen in a nineteenth century farmyard scene observing a large mother sow pig as she contentedly nurses her hungry little piglets. Meanwhile a rooster and chicken in the background are perched on a pile of hay as a green headed mallard duck drinks from the pig feeding trough. One Victorian lady holds a book titled Woods Natural History and a butterfly net while the other elegantly clad lady in a long grey nineteenth century dress sports a grey umbrella or parasol.
The Fine Art America logo does not appear on the final product.
