Artist's Description
This is a restored copy of an authentic souvenir chromolithograph from the 1901 Pan American Exposition which was held in Buffalo, New York. The artwork includes a portrait of Pan, numerous Native American elements including a scene with Native American teepees, the seal of the city of Buffalo, an American bison at the eastern edge of the Great Plains, and utility poles carrying the early electricity technology generated by Niagara Falls which was a major factor in the early 20th century economic development of the Buffalo, New York region.
The Pan-American Exposition was a World's Fair held in Buffalo, New York, United States, from May 1 through November 2, 1901. The fair occupied 350 acres of land on the western edge of what is now Delaware Park, extending from Delaware Avenue to Elmwood Avenue and northward to Great Arrow Avenue.
The Fine Art America watermark does not appear on the final product.
About Peter Ogden
I have been a visual artist since the 1960s. I'm originally from Orange County, New York, located in the Metro New York City region where I was raised on the working dairy farm [Ogden Farm] which my family founded in 1832. I graduated from Bucknell University where I majored in art which included a semester in Florence studying Italian Renaissance art. After Bucknell I studied at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. I have lived throughout the U.S. [including three years in Sante Fe, New Mexico], in the Caribbean and in Mexico and Central America. I now reside in the 19th century...
