Description
This is a restored copy of a seventeenth century botanical handwoven Dutch tapestry featuring unicorns surrounded by garlands of elegant multicolored flowers.
The original tapestry is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Tapestry is a form of textile art, traditionally woven by hand on a loom. Tapestry is weft-faced weaving, in which all the warp threads are hidden in the completed work, unlike most woven textiles, where both the warp and the weft threads may be visible.
