Description
This is a restored copy[with a few tiny imperfections because the image is over 125 years old] of a circa 1885 advertising poster montage of American Indian chiefs with a large illustration of a Native American hunting an American bison in the old western American frontier. This colorful antique Victorian promotional cigarette advertising art was originally published by famed 19th century cigarette manufacturer Allen and Ginter. Allen and Ginter published collectible cigarette cards which were included with the purchase of a pack of cigarettes. This illustration depicts fifty of these antique Native American tribal chief portrait cigarette cards.
Some of the tribes represented by a chief's portrait in this piece include: Delaware, Nambe, Pawnee, Blackfeet Sioux, Sac & Fox, Crow, Gros Ventres, Dakota Sioux, Chippewa, Hunkpapa Sioux, Ute, Cheyenne, Missouria, Apache, Osage, Warm Springs, Winnebago, Ioway, Ponca, Navajo and Nez Perce. Portraits of both Sitting Bull and Geronimo are included.
The Fine Art America watermark does not appear on the final product.
