Description
This is a restored copy of "Isamboul Nubian Ruins Colossus Egypt" [temple ruins of Abu Simbel], an historic salt print created circa 1850 by famed early French travel photographer, Maxime du Camp, 1822-1894.
The Abu Simbel temples are two colossal rock temples at Abu Simbel in Aswan, Upper Egypt, near the African nation of Sudan. These temple ruins are located on the western bank of Lake Nasser. The landmark is a UNESCO World Heritage site designated the "Nubian Monuments". These ancient royal Egyptian temples were initially carved from the local mountains circa thirteenth century BC, during the nineteenth dynasty rule of the great and powerful western Asian Pharaoh Ramesses II.
