This is a restored copy of Je-He-O-Ho-Shah Cannot be Thrown Down a Warrior, an 1832 oil on canvas by American painter George Catlin, 1796-1972. This portrait depicts a Native American Plains Indians warrior in feathered headdress wearing war paint and traditional hand made indigenous American tribal jewelry.
George Catlin was an American explorer, attorney, artist, writer, and adventurer who was noted for his portraits of Native Americans of the historical American West. While exploring the American "Wild West" on five trips during the 1830s, Catlin journaled about and illustrated portraits portraying the world of the Plains Indians.
