Description
This is a restored, enhanced and modernized reproduction of an antique Chinese Vajrabhairava Yuan Dynasty mandala mural circa 1300 AD.
The Yuan dynasty, officially the Great Yuan, was a successor state to the Mongol Empire after its division and an imperial dynasty of China established by Kublai Khan, leader of the Mongol Borjigin clan, lasting from 1271 to 1368 AD. In orthodox Chinese historiography, this dynasty followed the Song dynasty and preceded the Ming dynasty.
A mandala is a geometric configuration of symbols. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.
