Description
This is a restored reproduction of a wiley woodland Red Fox chromolithograph produced circa 1885 for a collectible series of cigarette cards by the Allen and Ginter Tobacco Company.
The red fox is the largest of the true foxes and one of the most widely distributed members of the order Carnivora, being present across the entire Northern Hemisphere including most of North America, Europe and Asia, plus parts of North Africa. It is listed as least concern by the IUCN.
Allen & Ginter was a Richmond, Virginia, tobacco manufacturing company formed by John F. Allen and Lewis Ginter around 1880. The firm created and marketed the first cigarette cards for collecting and trading in the United States.
The Fine Art America logo does not appear on the final product.
